Terms and Conditions of Entry

The following Terms and Conditions apply to anyone applying as a participant for “Write Here, Write Now! (working title) Competition.

1.       By entering the Competition, You (“You” or “Your”) are accepting these Terms and Conditions, and You acknowledge that the Terms & Conditions may be changed (whether verbally, in writing or otherwise) by Red Paint Productions Limits (“the Producer”, “We”, or “Us”) at any time at its sole discretion.

2.       You must be aged 16 or above on 1 July 2022.

3.       If You are under 18 and if You are chosen to participate in the TV Pilot You will need to provide written consent from Your parents or legal guardian prior to filming. If You are invited to attend the TV Pilot, You will need to be accompanied by an adult.

4.       The Competition is open to all artists – amateur, professional or hobbyists - who: (i) have been resident in the UK; (ii) hold a valid passport. You will, upon request, provide the Producer with supporting documentation in order to substantiate this, and will immediately notify the Producer of any change in Your immigration or residential status.

5.       You must be a resident of the UK.

6.       The Competition is open to all Letter Artists – amateur, professional or hobbyists.

7.       If selected, You must be able to commit to one day of filming at a London location required for the TV Pilot. Should your entry be successful, we will confirm the arrangements for filming and the relevant date nearer the time.

8.       If you are chosen, the Producer will make an ex gratia payment of £50 (fifty pounds) towards your travel/hotel and subsistence costs incurred in attending the TV Pilot, but only if you reside outside of London.

9.       The Competition opens at 12pm (midday) on 15 August 2022 and closes at 12pm (midday) on 15 November 2022 (“the Closing Date”). Entries received after that date and time will not be considered. The Producer reserves the right in its absolute discretion to extend the Closing Date for a reasonable period of time, and in these circumstances, the date on which the Producer elects to close the Competition shall be the Closing Date.

10.   Only one entry can be submitted per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted.

11.   We reserve the right to disqualify Your entry if: a. Your entry is incomplete; b. You do not meet the entry criteria; c. You are not eligible to enter the Competition; d. You cannot be contacted; e. You do not respond within 48 hours of being contacted by Us in relation to Your Competition entry; or f. You are not reasonably available to participate in the TV Pilot.

12.   Our decision on these and all other matters is final and binding in all respects, and no correspondence will be entered into.

13.  Either a CLAS Fellow or professional Graphic Designer or both, will assess and judge the entries and select the Letter artists who will be invited to attend the TV Pilot. Their decision is final and binding in all respects.

14.   If you are chosen to take part in the TV Pilot, you will be asked to sign a Participant Agreement, which sets out the terms of your participation in the TV Pilot.

15.   In order to protect the content of the TV Pilot, you must at all times keep all information about the TV Pilot strictly confidential and must not give anyone any information or material or make any public statement or publish any photographs at any time by any means (including on blogs, websites and/or social networking platforms such as Twitter, Facebook etc.) about the entry or production process and/or the TV Pilot or any other person involved in such processes. This confidentiality applies and continues whether or not you are selected to take part in the TV Pilot or remain actively involved in the TV Pilot. You are not permitted to respond to any approach from the press or anyone else enquiring about the entry or production process, anyone else involved in the process and/or anything about the TV Pilot and will refer any such enquiries immediately to Red Paint Productions Limited.

16.   By entering the Competition, You agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of Your personal information in order to process and contact You about Your Competition entry. The information You supply in connection with Your Competition entry (including Your personal details) a. may be included in a database compiled for the TV Pilot and will only be used for the purposes related to the production, exploitation and/or promotion of the TV Pilot; b. will not be supplied to third parties other than as is reasonably necessary for purposes related to the production, exploitation and/or promotion of the TV Pilot. All personal details will be held and processed in accordance with all relevant UK laws and regulations

17.   The production team's decisions regarding the entry and the selection of applicants for the TV Pilot are entirely at their discretion, final and binding.

18.   By submitting an entry to the Competition, You grant to Us in relation to all of the materials submitted by You (including without limitation any drawings or photographs  (the “Materials”): a. the right (but not the obligation) to record footage and images of You and the Materials generally and throughout the TV Pilot (“Footage”); b. all necessary rights and consents for the full period of copyright (and afterwards so far as possible in perpetuity) to exhibit/make available at the Producer’s sole discretion the Footage and the Materials in any way and in any media and means (now known or hereafter devised) throughout the world; c. a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use and publish the Footage and/or Materials in electronic format (including on the Producer’s websites) for purposes connected with the Competition (but without any the obligation to so do); and d. the right to use Your name, photograph and town or city of residence for the sole purpose of identifying You as the author of Your Competition entry.

19.   At any stage of the entry process, you agree that Red Paint Productions Limited may conduct background checks in order to verify any of the information you have supplied and you agree to provide Red Paint Productions Limited with any assistance or further information necessary to do this. If we have reasonable grounds to suspect that any information you provide is untrue or inaccurate, we have the right to suspend, terminate or delete your entry.

20.   You warrant that any material submitted by you as part of your entry, in whatever form, including any written material and photographs:

a.       • is genuine and accurate and original to you;

b.       • has not been copied or reproduced from any published source, whether printed or digital/on-line;

c.       • does not infringe the copyright or any other right of any third party; and

d.       • does not breach any contract, duty of confidence or right of privacy

21.   Red Paint Productions reserves the right to make changes to these terms and conditions at any time.

22.   The Competition and these Terms and Conditions will be governed by English law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
